LA Lakers forward Elgin Baylor in 1962 averaged 38.3 ppg in 48 games (out of 80 games). He missed a lot of games because he was called into reserve duty with the Army near Fort Lewis, Washington, and as a result only made the Laker lineup mostly on weekends or with an occassional pass.
